In the previous eight editions of Only Watch, a total of 70 million euros was raised to support the fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This plays a vital role in finding a cure for this terrible disease. For watch brands, it is an opportunity to do good and showcase their abilities. This works two ways, as it results in truly unique watches that are so tempting that they will only raise more money for the cause. As an initiative of Luc Pettavino, leading watch brands create every two years a piece unique, which they donate to Only Watch to help the fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. These watches are auctioned, offering collectsors a unique opportunity to obtain a very rare timepiece while supporting this amazing cause. Harry Winston started with its Project Z timepieces in 2004. They aimed at combining innovative materials with tantalizing complications, a strategy they have stayed loyal to ever since.

Roger Dubuis has made quite a name for itself with its Double Flying Tourbillon movements. However, they also offer an enticing Single Flying Tourbillon. With that watch, the brand proves that being single ain't such a bad thing. They completely redesigned the model, keeping its familiar profile but updating both the movement as well as the case.

The watchmakers of Grand Seiko's Micro Artist Studio in Shiojiri have created yet another masterpiece to celebrate Seiko's 140th anniversary. Named SBGZ007, it does remind of the SBGZ001, mainly thanks to its textured case made of platinum. The texture itself is, however, quite different. The artisans of Grand Seiko took inspiration from the night sky over their manufacture and decorated the Zaratsu polished case with a star-like pattern. This further highlights the slim and elegant profile of the case, which has a diameter of 38.5mm and is only 9.8mm thick.

Born out of a shared love for the water and exploration comes a new collaboration between Swiss watchmaker, Ulysse Nardin and Canadian luxury waterside experiences manufacturer, Beau Lake.

The MP-09 has always been an imposing watch within the collectsion of Hublot. It was the brand's first bi-axis tourbillon, which gets center stage thanks to the uniquely shaped case that follows the curve of the wrist. This alone makes the MP-09 a masterpiece, as crafting all the different angles is highly complex. Initially, the model was launched in King Gold, black 3D Carbon, and titanium. Now, Hublot is launching an additional four different versions, all in colored 3D Carbon.

Having an ambassador is nothing new. Most of the major watch brands have one or more. However, having an ambassador with a sincere personal passion for the watch brand they represent is rare. Seven-time FIA Formula One World Drivers' Champion Lewis Hamilton teamed up with IWC in 2013 and hasn't hidden his passion for the brand from Schaffhausen in both his professional as well as his personal life since. He seems to have a particular preference for their (Big) Pilot's collectsion, even owning custom versions. That also makes him perfect to be the star in the new global advertising campaign.
